Writing Online Can Earn You Pocket Change
13 06 2007Anyone, I mean anyone, can post stuff on the internet for free and call themselves published. Its ridiculously easy as long as you have access to the internet in some form. There are plenty of sites and blogs and forums and so on you can post too. However, why not post your stuff somewhere that offers a little bit of money, so you can at least get a little buck for your bang. (As opposed to Bang for the Buck.) You may just get enough cash to grab a value meal at Mcdonalds, or you can make enough to pay one of those pesky bills that come in every month. A few dollars here and there do pile up after all. Even if you don’t think about yourself as a writer and don’t even want to become a professional writer you can still do this and make some money. Heck, some sites will even pay for instructional videos or photos if you prefer that media.
There are a lot of ways to earn a little cash online, from the straightforward and simple to the much more complicated and convoluted ways that promise higher profits if you just get it right….I’ve compiled a bunch of sites and ways to make money and still haven’t come across all of them. Let’s start with the simple ways to make a little pocket change.
Simple and Straightforward…
There are a few sites where you can just sign up and submit content for review and payment or just sign up and get paid for other reasons.
Associated Content-You can sign up and submit articles, editorials, simple how-tos and videos and slide shows. They’ll review it and make you an offer for the rights to the content. Its never very high, most stuff earns about $3 or $4 dollars per, but you don’t have to be brillant to get stuff accepted. I came across and article on thumb wrestling the other day on their site.
PaysMyBills-this site sells short ebooks on how unusual careers can make people a little money. You tell them about your ebook idea, it doesn’t have to be long, maybe 25 pages or so, talking all about the unique way to make money and how to get started in it. They respond with whether or not they want it and if they do, you write the ebook and get %50 royalties from sales for life. I’ve contacted them about an ebook but haven’t heard back yet…
SurveySpot.com-I’ve signed up for this one. They send you information on recent surveys in your profile group. Some of them pay like $5 to $15 dollars, but you have to take the survey before they meet their qouta for it and the survey will ask you a few questions to make sure you qualify or are in the right survey group for each. Don’t make a lot but get some extra cash every now and then.
InboxDollars.com-Sign up to receive emails from this site’s sponsers and get paid for each one you view. They don’t send a lot of emails, and they only pay a few cents per, but its something to do when checking your accounts.
Hits4Pay-Another email reading site, but you can also get a referral bonus for those who sign up after you through a URL you’re provided with and make money off of emails they read.
A Little More Involved….
There are other more involved ways to make more money online. You can be a service provider on a project directory for freelance writers, designers, administrative assistants and so on. Or you can look for regular gigs on a job board like some of the ones posted on Freelance Writer’s World. The blogger lists a couple of new job boards I’ve never heard of here’s a list of them:
I’ve never heard of SunOasis before, but have written about the other three sites elsewhere. Other sites I’ve bid on jobs at or written on are:
Way More Involved…
Then there are the money earning strategies that promise a real living working at home and maybe even a lot more than that, if you can just find the right formula…
1. Blogging for Money-There are numerous ways to blog for money. However, way, way, way before you start earning some income you have to build up an interesting blog and a regular following. After that you can advertise on the site through google adwords or renting out space to advertisers and you and review or write about other sites and other products for some cash.
To blog for money get a blog, write consistantly on it for thirty days, get links to other sites, build on comments from visitors then go to someplace like:
There are plenty of others. Sign up and if your blog is built up enough and matchs the company’s product then you’ll get some offers or can bid on certain topics to blog about. The company reviews it and pays you, etc. etc.
It really helps if you make your money blog something that’s broad in topic and definition, like a technology review blog. So you can qualify for a lot of different jobs.
Places to sign up for ads to put on your blog are:
I’ve not had much success with advertising so I just gave up on it for now. I think it requires a lot of effort to really build up that blog following. Good Luck and get earning some pocket change!
